that's my king!

who knew - two video posts in a row. :) here's a video that was played at brushy creek on easter sunday (first created by granger community church). it's an awesome video mix of the passion of the christ and a sermon called seven way king spoken by s.m. lockridge. click the bottom right to go full screen to get the full effect.

lixit

considering eva spends much of her day in her crate, she was long overdue for a water bottle. we got her this one that attaches to the side and works like those used for hamsters. i think it's a real novelty to her to drink water upside down through a metal ball bearing, because even when her regular water bowl is full, she'll drink from this one. the other night, she for some reason decided to drink from it while on the other side of her crate.

easter

chris & i had a nice easter weekend. on good friday, i had a great time decorating easter eggs with liz & some other girls. here's 3 eggs for our little family: a gt gold one for chris (his name didn't turn out that clear), a purple one for me, and a blue one for eva. while i was decorating these, chris was at home watching a ken burns special on the civil war. can't say i was sad to miss that! on sunday we enjoyed our church service and had a packed sunday school (our class has exploded to about 35 members). the pastor spoke about the true meaning of easter. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. ~1 Peter 1:3
in the evening, we had an easter potlock with some friends from church/chris' bible study who were in town. the food was delicious: barbeque chicken avocado burgers, pasta salad, fruit, and chips with blueberry nut crunch, peanut butter chocolate squares, and cheesecake for desert. after all that, we needed some exercise! we ended up walking to a nearby park and enjoying the beautiful spring weather.
last thing: i tried sugar-free peeps this year, and they are so much better than the regular ones! you can actually taste the marshmallow because the sugary-sweetness doesn't overpower it.

march update

chris & i have been staying busy this month! he just started softball season with the church league again. i'm looking forward to watching his games and getting to hang out with the other wives. chris is entering his busiest season at work, with a yearly design review coming up. my work has been pretty exhausting lately. my outlet has been getting together with my friend lori every week to work on various craft projects. she's into making jewelry, and i'm working on another decoupage to decorate my office.

chris & i visited augusta weekend before last, for my friend tori's wedding shower. she & ron are getting married near chicago in july. the shower was quite a reunion! here's the trio of high school best friends: tori, jessie, & me. and the three of us with carrie. this group goes all the way back to middle school!old roommates from atlanta: tori, meghan, nidhi, me. we had a nice visit with both sets of parents and then returned to greenville for a celebration of the end of our forty days of community campaign at church. our sunday school class has grown (i.e., doubled) over the last several weeks!

valentine's

here's us after celebrating valentine's with a delicious meal at devereaux's last night:this restaurant is a special treat, as we only go on very special occasions. we got the "valentine's day chef's tasting menu", which was 5 small courses of the chef's choosing. my favorite course was lobster with a vanilla-parsnip sauce. the dessert, a white chocolate shell encasing raspberries & chocolate mousse atop lemon meringue, was a close second!

we exchanged cards, and i made christopher a crossword puzzle of some memories from our relationship. i found a neat website (discovery puzzlemaker) that makes them for you- perfect for teachers! this is our 7th valentine's day together, our 3rd as husband & wife. we've now had eva for one year, if you remember that we got her in 2009 for a valentine's gift to each other.

snow!

here's eva hopping through the snow:

netflix origami

i learned about netflix origami in real simple. it's a fun way of reusing the netflix flaps that you tear off before sending your movie back. somebody figured out how to fold them just right to make 13 different shapes. as you can see, so far i've made the t-shirt, tray, envelope, swan, box, heart, and frog. i still have the crab, sack, cube, and several airplanes to make to complete the set!
